Survival Trait: Duck Web Feet

  1. Our group researched the duck. The survival trait of the duck is its webbed feet.
  2. We learned that the ducks survival trait, its webbed feet, allows it to swim in its watery environment. By swimming, it is able to find food. They eat foods like, plants, grass, fish, insects and worms. Ducks are aquatic birds and can be found in fresh water and sea water. The body shape of a duck is more rounded. They have a long and strong bill on their face. The wings are strong, short and pointy.
  3. Ducks web feet work like paddles. The space between their three toes is closed which allows them to swim fast.

4. Ducks webbed feet protect them from predators. The webbed feet help them to push water, move faster and swim away further. Ducks feet cannot feel cold because they have no nerves or blood vessels. Ducks even have water proof feathers!
